From various news reports, it sounds like the fire was controlled by the LVFD about noon Pacific time (about an hour ago as of this posting).

With so many ENORMOUS hotels, full of activity and thousands of guests every day, on the Strip, it's kind of a miracle that it's been 27 years since the last major incident, the huge fire at the MGM.
